The Monroe County Sheriff’s Animal Farm is a collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and the Humane Society of Monroe County. It is home to chickens, zebus, ostrich, lemurs, skunk, kinkajou, foxes, and many other critters. The farm provides inmates with the opportunity to care for and train animals while learning valuable life skills and as a model for other jails and prisons across the country. The farm is open to the public the first and third Sundays of each month from 1 pm to 3 pm.

This 10-day costume celebration features flamboyant masquerade competitions including one for pets, a headdress ball, exuberant promenades, street fairs, and a grand parade that stars marching groups, island-style bands, and lavish floats. This year’s theme is “Uniforms and Unicorns.”

The Goombay Festival is a celebration of Bahamian culture held in Key West, Florida. The festival features live music, dancing, food, and art. The festival is a great way to experience Bahamian culture and learn about the history of the Bahamas. It is also a great time to have fun and dance the night away. Here are some of the highlights of the festival: live music from Bahamian bands, dancing to the sounds of Junkanoo music, eating traditional Bahamian food, such as conch fritters and johnnycakes, shopping for Bahamian arts and crafts, learning about the history of the Bahamas, and having fun and dancing the night away.

A family event featuring food, games, music, pony rides, archery, arts and crafts, and face painting located on Bayview Park on the corner of Truman Avenue and Eisenhower Drive. This spooky afternoon takes place from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
